ROLE OF GREEN PROCUREMENT PRACTICES IN ENHANCING CORPORATE GOVERNANCE, TRANSPARENCY AND ACCOUNTABILITY

The importance of green procurement methods in advancing business sustainability, governance, accountability, and transparency is becoming more widely acknowledged. This study looks at how suppliers in the cement manufacturing sector are affected by different green procurement practices, including sourcing sustainable materials, energy efficiency, emission reduction, waste reduction, recycling, transportation efficiency, and eco-friendly packaging. The results show that whereas recycling, waste reduction, and efficient transportation greatly improve accountability, they have no impact on corporate governance and transparency. Practices for energy efficiency and emission reduction have a small impact on transparency and governance, but they do help with accountability. The findings imply that although green procurement promotes corporate responsibility, its total efficacy hinges on combining sustainability guidelines with strict enforcement measures. In order to achieve significant gains in governance, transparency, and accountability, this study emphasizes the necessity of a more structured approach to green procurement in the cement manufacturing industry.
