Project VECTORS (Vocabulary Enrichment, Computing Techniques and Oral Reading in Science) is an innovation project in Science of Calawitan National High School, implemented by Mr. Gilbert C. Francisco is the Project Proponent. Project VECTORS is a product innovation. It was implemented during the Third and Fourth Quarter of SY 2023-2024. The Grade 7 students served as the participants of the innovation. This innovation project was anchored in the school’s flagship program known as “ONE CNHS”. This flagship program is aligned with the MATATAG Curriculum agenda which aims to provide quality basic education that promotes literacy, numeracy and values formation to all learners through inclusion, fairness, standard and competency-based learning process, and child-friendly environment where they exercise their rights and ready to embrace the challenges posed by Education 4.0. Project VECTORS targets to elevate the scientific literacy of learners by improving the learning foundation, which are the literacy and numeracy skills. Project VECTORS aims to increase the Mean Proficiency Level of Grade 7 learners by 10%. This target increase is possible through activities that intent to enrich the science vocabulary of learners, improve their computation skills and enhance their oral reading skills. After a three-month implementation, Project VECTORS produced positive impact in the academic performance of Grade 7 students in Science. Quantitative comparison of the pretest and post test scores revealed that there is 15.45 % increase in the MPS of learners. Results also showed that there is a 15.14% increase in the Mean Proficiency Level (MPL) of learners after the implementation of Project VECTORS. In using the paired samples t-test a Sig. value of < 0.001 was obtained from the pretest and post test scores. The Sig. value of < 0.001, and is lower than the 0.05 level of significance. Statistics confirmed that the students gained a significant increase in their test scores after the implementation of Project VECTORS.
