EVALUATION OF ROTTERDAM CT SCORING SYSTEMS FOR PREDICTION OF OUTCOME IN TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY

Background- Brain injury is a major cause of death and disability. Computed tomography is essential for diagnostic screening to provide information about a patient's prognosis. To evaluate the imaging characteristics of primary brain i Aim- Methods - njury on the first CT scan. A prospective observational study was conducted among 98 patients to assess the CT scoring system of the head with the prognostic factors of brain injury. Head CT scoring was assessed according to Rotterdam score. Among 98 patients 77 patients we Results- re males and 21 patients were females. There is a predominance of males. Majority of the case are in the age group of 30-39 years. There is a significant correlation between Glasgow outcome score with Rotterdam with a p-value of -0.726 . The existing head CT classification Conclusion- system provides good information in outcome prediction for TBI. With the increase in the Rotterdam score, there is a significant increase in the mortality of traumatic brain injury patients.
