PROFESSOR IOAN-AUREL POP (B. JANUARY 1, 1955), A PROMINENT RESEARCHER AND HISTORIAN OF TRANSYLVANIA –BIBLIOGRAPHICAL REFERENCES ON THE OCCASION OF HIS SEVENDECADES
One of the most prominent Romanian historians today – also the current president of the Romanian Academy – is on the verge of turning seven decades old (born January 1, 1955). It is an occasion for a modest tribute to a devoted servant of Clio, for his documentary contributions, essential to the knowledge and defense of the truths of the national history of the Romanians, for underlining its perennial constants. The following lines highlight landmarks of his circumstantial historical bibliography, especially the history of his native province – Transylvania, “our state of wakefulness” (about which he wrote 12 books as a sole author, 22 books as co-author or/and coordinator, and several hundred studies and articles).
