Research on non-stop maintenance of sewage treatment system based on spatiotemporal redundancy regulation

To address the operational interruption during maintenance of sewage treatment systems, this study proposes a non-stop maintenance method based on spatiotemporal redundancy regulation (SRR). By analyzing the SRR characteristics of a tobacco manufacturing enterprise’s sewage treatment station (designed capacity: 2000 t/d; actual daily capacity: 899.68 t, load rate 45%; functional water tanks with dynamic regulation capacity of 25%-30%), a four-dimensional control strategy (“storage, retention, disposal, backup”) was designed to establish a five-stage water level linkage control process (FWLCP). Experimental results demonstrated that the low-flow operation scheme achieved a determination coefficient (R 2 =0.899), significantly outperforming the peak shaving scheme (R 2 =0.828). The post-maintenance chemical oxygen demand (COD) decreased from 23.86 mg/L to 20.24 mg/L (P=0.011, <0.05), aligning with the 95.2% COD removal rate of the Anaerobic-Anoxic-Oxic (A2/O) treatment process. Additionally, energy consumption during maintenance was reduced by 18.7% compared to traditional methods, validating the method’s dual advantages in system stability and water quality compliance.
