NEPHROTIC SYNDROME IN A CHRONIC LIVER DISEASE :FSGS WITH IGA DEPOSITS
In liver cirrhosis, there is diminished ability to clear circulating IgA complexes resulting in intraglomerular IgA deposition. These cases associated with focal segmental glomerulosclerosis are rare, a severe and progressive form of glomerular damage. In our case, a young man with a longstanding alcohol use disorder presented with a rare and intricate combination of FSGS pattern with IgA deposits and characteristics of alcoholic liver cirrhosis.
