GEOGRAFIJA (FIZIČKA, KULTURNA, SOCIJALNA) U PESNIŠTVU ZA DECU DEJANA ALEKSIĆA

In the selected corpus from Dejan Aleksić’s voluminous opus for children, we wanted to show how space is activated as one of the thematic fields that occupy his poetry. The primary goal of our work was not to examine the stylistic and linguistic procedures of Dejan Aleksić in naming and shaping space. The aim of the work is to investigate the representation and functions of different aspects of space in his children’s poetry based on a reduced anthological selection, that is, to show, on concrete examples, how different levels of meaning, aesthetic contribution, cognitive and stimulating aspects of this poetry are realized through space. In the analyzed poems, different spaces are viewed both from the point of view of physical geography — where they are located, what are their characteristics — and from the aspect of social and cultural perceptions. Procedures by which the recipients are offered a broader picture of the space, either those described in more detail, or only mentioned, as an incentive to the reader’s curiosity, were investigated. By shaping different aspects of space, Aleksić offers knowledge and an indirect but stimulating experience to his readers, not engaging in unnecessary pedagogy and teaching, but encouraging their curiosity and desire to learn. Along with his own poetic play, Dejan Aleksić examines spaces on all meridians, from antiquity to the present day, offering his youngest readers a kind of Baedeker for the future, and the older ones a witty play and a new vision
