STUDY OF THE BIOCIDAL PROPERTIES OF NANOMETER COATINGS CREATED ON THE SURFACE OF A POLYMER USING ION-PLASMA TECHNOLOGIES AT ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE
This article presents the results of a study on the biocidal activity of carbon, fluorocarbon, and silver-containing coatings formed on the surface of polyethylene terephthalate. The coatings were applied using a low-frequency plasma torch at atmospheric pressure with the use of CF4 and C6H12. The silver-containing coating was created by fine dispersion of a colloidal silver nanoparticle solution in water. The study confirmed the biocidal properties of the obtained coatings and proposed hypotheses regarding the factors influencing these properties. The highest biocidal activity was demonstrated by silver-containing, as well as carbon-based and fluorocarbon coatings that also contain silver. Biocidal activity reached 61-66% after 360 min of exposure.
