PERSPECTIVAS DAS PUÉRPERAS NA VIOLÊNCIA OBSTÉTRICA: O PAPEL DA ENFERMAGEM NA PROMOÇÃO DO PARTO HUMANIZADO

Obstetric violence is a public health problem that compromises the quality of maternal and child care, affecting the physical and emotional well-being of women during childbirth and the postpartum period. This study aims to investigate how nursing care influences the perception of postpartum women about obstetric violence and to identify the practices that contribute to the promotion of humanized childbirth. The justification lies in the investigation of the indicators of obstetric violence from the perspective of puerperal women, which is essential to understand how nursing practices impact the experience of childbirth. Given the growing awareness of the need for humanization in obstetric care, it is essential to analyze the role of nursing professionals in preventing and identifying behaviors that may be perceived as violent. This study is justified by the urgency to promote care that respects women’s rights, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment during childbirth, which can, in turn, improve maternal and newborn health outcomes. This is a qualitative research, based on literature review and analysis of reports of experiences lived by women during the parturition process. The results indicate that practices such as unnecessary interventions, lack of informed consent, excessive use of invasive procedures and negligence in care are forms of obstetric violence. In addition, the importance of nursing in the humanization of childbirth is evidenced, providing respectful care, based on active listening, the protagonism of the pregnant woman and the adoption of practices based on scientific evidence. It is concluded that the training of professionals, the implementation of humanized protocols and the awareness of pregnant women are fundamental for the eradication of obstetric violence and for the guarantee of quality maternal care.
