High-speed strain measurement in dual-laser Brillouin optical correlation-domain reflectometry
We propose a new high-speed Brillouin optical correlation-domain reflectometry (BOCDR) configuration based on dual-laser operation. The system was experimentally validated through distributed strain measurements at 100 sample points along a 3.5-m-long sensing fiber, achieving a repetition rate of 10 Hz and a BGS acquisition rate of 1 kHz. High-speed BGS acquisition is realized by sweeping the output frequency of an independently controlled reference laser, enabling large strain dynamic range and cost reduction over conventional BOCDR systems.
