Indoor comfort monitoring in buildings using fiber optic sensors
A novel integration of a monitoring solution for indoor comfort control and modern building management based on fiber optic sensors (FOS) is presented in this paper. These sensors effectively measure both temperature and relative humidity, using commercial fiber temperature cables, and specially developed polyimide-coated fiber sensors ensuring an increased response to environmental humidity changes. The study highlights the ability of the developed sensors to deliver distributed and real-time environmental monitoring across large areas, offering precise insights into building conditions to advance sustainable practices.
