A direct derivation of the relativistic velocity addition formula

Abstract A direct derivation of the relativistic velocity addition formula is presented without the use of the Lorentz transformation. The method entails the use of all the three relativistic effects along with the definition of velocity which makes it accessible to virtually any student in an introductory physics course.
