Investigating the Effectiveness of Drone Technology in Delivering Medical Supplies to Remote or Underserved Areas
This paper undertakes a study on the effectiveness of the use of drone technology in the delivery of medical supplies in remote or underserved areas. It conducts a systematic literature review of 13 high-quality studies to evaluate operational efficiency., regulatory challenges., and societal acceptance. The results indicate that in most cases., drones outperform traditional routes by far in speed., as well as in accessibility and environmental sustainability. However., barriers such as payload size., regulatory complexity., and societal apprehensions remain. The study extracts critical success factors from available empirical experience and provides practical recommendations on the assimilation of drones into healthcare systems. This piece of research fills major gaps to inform stakeholders in improving the equity of health service delivery and supporting new logistics solutions in geographically constrained regions.
