Shake-to-Alert: An Automated Mobile Safety Application for Women with Emergency Notification via Motion Detection
This project introduces a mobile application aimed at enhancing women's safety through a motion-triggered alert system. Utilizing the phone's accelerometer, the app detects intentional shakes and triggers an emergency alert. Upon activation, the app automatically sends a message to a pre-registered guardian contact, including the user's real-time GPS location. The GPS module ensures precise location tracking, while the GSM module sends the alert via SMS or notifications. The shake detection algorithm uses thresholds for motion intensity and duration to differentiate between accidental and intentional shakes. This system provides a quick, discreet, and reliable safety mechanism, empowering users with an easy-to-use tool for immediate help in emergencies. The integration of location tracking, real-time alerts, and motion detection creates a robust solution for women's personal security. The GPS module pinpoints the user's location, and the GSM module transmits the alert, even without internet access. The system runs in the background to allow discrete operation, ensuring that guardians receive continuous location updates if needed. This system offers an efficient, real-time solution for personal safety.
