A 2D Slotted Waveguide Antenna Array Fed by a Single Longitudinal Stage for High-Power Microwave Applications

In this paper, we present the design and character-ization of a two-dimensional −2D- slotted waveguide antenna array tailored for multi-megawatt microwave generators working in S-band. The proposed antenna array leverages 72 radiating slots spanning over a six wave-guiding structure configuration that maintains a compact form factor while maximizes antenna gain. The design incorporates dielectric materials capable of withstanding high-power levels, ensuring reliable performance in demanding environments. Experimental results demonstrate a peak gain of 25.5 dBi at 3 GHz with a return loss better than 15 dB at 3 GHz with an operational bandwidth of 2.1 %. The design is verified by simulated and experimental characterization.
