Evaluation of 3D-Printed E-Band Waveguide Antennas
An antenna manufacturing concept, combining resin three dimensional (3D) printing and metallization via electroless copper deposition (ECD), is presented. The capability of the process to produce complex antenna structures is demonstrated. A corrugated horn antenna, a straight horn antenna and various slotted waveguide antennas (SWA) are inspected. Antennas with less than 1 dB performance deviation in realized gain as compared to simulated results of antennas made entirely of copper were achieved.
