A Solar Cell Integrated Antenna for on-the-Move IoT Applications
This paper presents a solar cell integrated antenna for IoT devices providing dual functionality. A fat dipole antenna is adapted to be used with a solar cell-based reflector. The dipole elements are made from Copper Indium Gallium Selenide (CIGS) solar cells. Both the dipole antenna and the reflector are composed of CIGS solar cells, allowing the design to capture sunlight from two directions. The proposed design is well-suited for applications where the position of the solar cells relative to sunlight continuously varies. The antenna system achieves a −10 dB impedance bandwidth of 54.4%, with a maximum gain of 7.19 dBi.
