Implications of Advanced Technology on IT Shared Service Centers
This paper explores the impact of technological advancements in IT Shared Service Centers (SSCs) on organizational effectiveness, decision-making, and design. The study attempts to apply conceptual theory to SSCs through quantitative and qualitative methods, i.e., eight interviews, a 14point t-test, and a 43-month Trend Analysis. Results show that technology enhances organizational intelligence and accelerates decision-making, fostering decentralization and standardization. However, challenges such as aligning customer strategies, managing costs, and measuring productivity persist. The findings provide insights to aid SSC stakeholders in the decision-making process.
