Even/Odd Method to Speed up the Rigorous Full-Wave Simulation of Large Phased Arrays Exploiting 90° Geometrical Symmetries for Wide Scanning Angles
Enhancing the scanning capabilities of phased arrays and eliminating grating lobes requires small periodicities and large array dimensions. This paper proposes an efficient simulation methodology that leverages 90° symmetry and the even/odd technique to reduce computational costs. Validated on a small array and applied to a larger one with a wider field of view, the method effectively decreases the simulation time by reducing the number of required elements, enabling the full-wave analysis of larger structures.
