Accurate Prediction of the Transmission Coefficient for Surface Wave Gliding Around a Wedge

A novel methodology to accurately predict the diffraction coefficient for metasurfaces (MTS) forming a wedge is presented herein. The MTSs forming the wedge are designed to support H- polarized surface waves (SW), and they are arranged to form an angle of π/2. This work aims at proposing an elegant procedure to investigate the SW transmission coefficient in the framework of the Sommerfeld-Maliuzhinets method. The adopted formulation enables the physical interpretation of solution in terms of field components.

Abstract

A novel methodology to accurately predict the diffraction coefficient for metasurfaces (MTS) forming a wedge is presented herein. The MTSs forming the wedge are designed to support H- polarized surface waves (SW), and they are arranged to form an angle of π/2. This work aims at proposing an elegant procedure to investigate the SW transmission coefficient in the framework of the Sommerfeld-Maliuzhinets method. The adopted formulation enables the physical interpretation of solution in terms of field components.
