A Slant-Polarized Coaxial Slot Array Antenna Based on Gap Waveguide MLW Technology for E-Band Applications

This paper presents the design of a coaxial slot array antenna based on gap waveguide multilayer waveguide (MLW) technology for E-Band applications. The proposed array consists of two subarrays in a <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$2 \times 4$</tex> configuration, with each element designed to generate <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$45^{\circ}$</tex> slant polarization. Abstract

This paper presents the design of a coaxial slot array antenna based on gap waveguide multilayer waveguide (MLW) technology for E-Band applications. The proposed array consists of two subarrays in a <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$2 \times 4$</tex> configuration, with each element designed to generate <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$45^{\circ}$</tex> slant polarization. The design features a five-layer structure, which enables slant polarization by progressively rotating the electric field orientation by <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$45^{\circ}$</tex> through intermediate cavities. The antenna achieves an impedance bandwidth of <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$S_{11} < -10$</tex> dB from <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$75.8 - 81.8$</tex> GHz. With 8 radiating slots, the maximum achieved gain is <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$14.7\ \text{dBi}$</tex>.
