Pobreza y trayectoria educativa de los estudiantes de educación media del municipio Convención, Norte de Santander, Colombia
The objective was to determine the relationship between poverty and the educational trajectory of high school students in the municipality of Convención, Norte de Santander, Colombia. It was a qualitative, field and descriptive study, under the case study method, with 61 students of grade 11, 10 teachers and 50 parents of the Instituto Técnico Agrícola of the municipality of Convención. Structured interviews and discussion groups were used on the basis of 5 categories: education, social, culture, environment, and economics. The software R version 3.0.1 and ATLAS.ti were used. In the results, it is found that the educational career in this region depends not only on coverage, but also on factors such as economic level, lack of opportunities and mobility. This leads to guaranteeing the free education policy and university welfare policies to reduce the economic impact that affects school dropout.
