Study on the relationship between chronic disease prevalence and subjective health perception

Objectives The purpose of this study was to identify the difference between subjective health perception and chronic disease prevalence in adults over 20 years and to analyze the health behavior accordingly. Methods 2,658 people were selected using data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2019-2021), and statistics were analyzed by real numbers, percentages, everages analysis, t-test, ANOVA and general linear model using SPSS 24.0. Results As a result of analyzing the prevalence of chronic diseases into four types through the coincidence of subjective health perception, it was confirmed that subjective health perception is related to the prevalence of chronic diseases, especially in the case of women, low socioeconomic status, and rural residence is high risk group. Conclusions Although subjective health perception is related to the prevalence of chronic diseases, it is difficult to say that it is completely consistent with the prevalence of chronic diseases. Therefore, adding and developing indicators that can reflect actual health conditions will further reflect actual health conditions.
