Effectiveness Of School-Based Education Intervention On Knowledge Regarding Pubertal Changes In Girls Among Adolescent Girls

Puberty is a critical developmental phase that marks the transition from childhood to adulthood, encompassing significant physical, psychological, and social changes. School-based education programs are vital in equipping adolescents with the necessary knowledge and skills to navigate these changes confidently. However, many adolescent girls, particularly in low-income settings, begin puberty without adequate information, leading to misconceptions, anxiety, and limited preparedness. This study examines the effectiveness of a school-based educational intervention designed to enhance adolescent girls' knowledge of pubertal changes. The intervention includes structured lessons, visual aids, and group discussions to address puberty's physical and psychological aspects. By assessing pre- and post-intervention knowledge levels, the study aims to determine the impact of educational efforts in bridging the knowledge gap. Findings suggest that such interventions contribute to improved understanding, increased self-awareness, and better coping mechanisms among adolescent girls, underscoring the importance of integrating puberty education into school curricula.
