Analysis of modern feeding of young mink
The current norms for feeding fur-bearing animals were developed in 2007. For minks, they were developed based on the nutritional and energy needs of medium-haired animals, which are currently practically non-existent in farms. Basically, a short-haired mink (70%) of a larger size is bred in animal farms. In this regard, animal husbandry specialists began to experiment with the ratio of nutrients in the diet. The purpose of the study is to analyze the feeding of young mink in several fur farms in the central region and to give its scientifically based characteristics. The analysis of feeding of young short-haired mink was carried out in 2 fur farms in the Moscow region and 1 in the Tver region over the past five years. The norms and rations of feeding young mink, the ratio of nutrients in the diet, the growth of animals and their final live weight, and the size of skin products were subjected to a comparative analysis. The digital material for the analysis was taken from household feed sheets and scientific publications in the open press. An analysis of modern feeding and productivity of young short-haired mink in farms in the central region indicates that typical diets in different farms differ little from each other in the ratio of feed groups. Meat and fish type of feeding is mainly used. To obtain high productive indicators (skin size), it is possible to deviate from the current norms of the ratio of nutrients in the diet: a decrease in protein, carbohydrates and an increase in fat levels. The optimal ratio of digestible nutrients in the diet of young short–haired mink, g per 100 kcal metabolic energy (ME): protein – 6.8; fat – 5.4–5.9; carbohydrates – 4.7-3.5.
