Application of Fuzzy Logic in Selection of Dielectric Nanofluid for Transformers

Vegetable oils are being continuously tested for their dielectric properties and their applications in transformers. Several nanomaterials dispersed vegetable oils have also been studied in terms of their insulation characteristics for transformers. However, every vegetable dielectric nanofluid possesses some enhanced physio-chemical properties whereas it lacks some other properties. In this paper, fuzzy logic-based approach has been developed for the selection of the most optimal dielectric vegetable nanofluid amongst the different nanofluids as per the required applications based on their insulating as well as physio-thermal properties. The fuzzy logic-based selection method is undertaken by analyzing various dielectric and physio-thermal properties of most studied vegetable nanofluids and applying the fuzzy rule sets on these oil sample properties.
