Improvement of Air-Cooling Performance Utilizing Breathing Phenomenon Induced by Corrugated Lotus Copper Fins

To develop a new air-cooling technology with low fan power and high heat transfer performance, the air-cooling performance is experimentally evaluated for corrugated lotus fins arranged in in-phase. The heat transfer coefficient of the in-phase fin is enhanced by up to 40% compared with the plate fin, and increases as the flow velocity increases.

Abstract

To develop a new air-cooling technology with low fan power and high heat transfer performance, the air-cooling performance is experimentally evaluated for corrugated lotus fins arranged in in-phase. The heat transfer coefficient of the in-phase fin is enhanced by up to 40% compared with the plate fin, and increases as the flow velocity increases.
