Research on real-time distributed temperature sensing with optical frequency domain reflectometry for high-voltage switchgear temperature monitoring applications
In our study, a real-time distributed temperature monitoring system based on Optical Frequency Domain Reflectometry (OFDR) is proposed in order to monitor the temperature of high voltage switchgear. An FPGA-based data demodulation algorithm is proposed to realize real-time distributed sensing by hardware acceleration. Validation experiments were carried out under the parameters of 50m test fiber with 6.4mm spatial resolution. The temperature calibration experiment obtained a good linear relationship between wavelength shift and temperature. The real-time temperature monitoring experiment finely restored the distributed temperature change process. The experiment verifies the feasibility of OFDR system applied in temperature monitoring of high-voltage switchgear, and it has a wide range of application prospects in the field of fine monitoring of key devices.
