The Comparative Analysis of the Effectiveness of the Energy Resources Using Fuzzy PROMETHE-TOPSIS Method

The amount of non-environmentally friendly power assets accessible on earth is limited; therefore, it is vital to save energy from the present stock or to use sustainable assets with the goal that it is likewise accessible to people in the future. The main aim of this study is to analyze the efficiency of the energy sources using the fuzzy-based multi-criteria decision-making approaches. For the analysis of the decision points, which are the energy resources alternatives, the fuzzy Preference Ranking Organization Method for Enrichment Evaluation (F- PROMETHEE) and fuzzy the Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (F-TOPSIS) analytical approaches are used, specifically to determine the positive and negative sides of the alternative energy sources and rank them based on their features, which are determined by the experts. The selected energy sources for this analysis are Fossil Fuel, Nuclear, Solar, Wind, Geothermal, Biomass, Hydropower, Natural Gas, and Tidal Energy, whereas, Economic Benefits, Health Benefits, Cost, Carbon Emissions, and many other criteria/parameters were investigated. The results show that the most effective energy source found as Geothermal Energy, the second effective energy source is the solar energy and it is followed by wind energy where they are applicable based on the given parameters. Additionally, the strengths and the weaknesses of each alternative are also shown in this study. The study is unique in that it applies analytical fuzzy-based models to decision-making to show the strengths and weaknesses of the energy resources numerically.
