Design and Implementation of a Virtual Exhibition System for Beilin Calligraphy Art Using VR Technology

This article explores the application of virtual reality (VR) technology in the display of calligraphy art in Beilin, and proposes a virtual display system based on 3D reconstruction and interactive design. The system adopts a layered architecture design, obtaining surface data of inscriptions through high-precision structured light scanning. Combined with improved Poisson reconstruction algorithm and physics based rendering model, it ensures the detailed representation and restoration effect of inscriptions. Gesture recognition and gaze tracking technology are integrated into the system, enhancing the interaction between users and inscriptions. Through multidimensional performance testing and user experience investigation, the results show that the system performs excellently in rendering efficiency, naturalness of interaction, and user satisfaction. Especially in the process of copying inscriptions, the learning effect of VR system is significantly better than traditional methods. Research has shown that VR based virtual display systems not only enhance the display effect of calligraphy art, but also provide users with a more immersive and interactive learning experience, which is of great significance for the digital protection of cultural heritage.
