Active Vibration Control of a Smart Structure Using Hybrid Neural Network and PID-Fuzzy Logic
This paper presents a comprehensive study on active vibration control of a smart cantilever beam using hybrid control strategies. The research integrates PID-Fuzzy Logic and Neural Network-based tuning methodologies to enhance the vibration suppression performance of a smart structure with piezoelectric materials. Initially, neural network was designed to optimize the PID parameters using a dataset generated through evolutionary algorithms. Sequentially, a fuzzy logic controller was employed to adaptively further tune the PID parameters, mitigating random disturbances. The study compares the performance of these approaches, demonstrating their efficacy in improving system stability and vibration reduction. Simulation results confirm the robustness of the proposed methodologies in controlling structural vibrations.
