Shaping a Supersonic Passenger Aircraft with Minimal Sonic Boom

Methods for reducing the shock wave produced by supersonic passenger aircraft are considered. Aerodynamic contouring of the aircraft to reduce the boom is proposed. A method is developed for assessing the proposed contours in the early design stages.
