An Integrated Case Study on Utilizing Digital Initiatives on Permanent Downhole Gauge Pressure Fixing Campaigns
Summary This case study highlights the transformative impact of digital tools on traditional workflows, underscoring the potential for further digital advancements in field operations and reservoir management. Leveraging real-time data and dashboard automation, this initiative streamlined fixing campaigns processes and decreased both the downtime and expense associated with PDGP systems while doubling the number of wells capturing untethered pressure data. The introduction of a live digital dashboard played a pivotal role, allowing for the alignment of gauge fixing campaigns with ongoing drilling and intervention schedules. This strategic approach removed unnecessary replacements and ensured swift repairs, particularly in areas where recent pressure data was lacking. Supported by the effectiveness of the digital dashboard, the working gauge count sits at a record high working gauge across the field’s history and capturing pressure readings across all the reservoirs. This provides valuable insight for future drilling operations and field development strategies. As a result, the initiative provided maintenance teams with valuable insights and greater control over resource allocation across field reservoirs, leading to improved well surveillance and more reliable reservoir performance monitoring. Ultimately, the digital integration demonstrated its value as a data-driven tool for proactive reservoir management, maximizing hydrocarbon recovery while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
