Evaluation of the Efficacy and Safety of Metoprolol in the Treatment of Unstable Angina Pectoris in Elderly Patients with Coronary Heart Disease

(P Objective: To explore the efficacy and safety of metoprolol in the treatment of unstable angina pectoris in elderly patients with coronary heart disease. Methods: The admission time points of this study were from January 2023 to January 2025. A total of 80 elderly patients with unstable angina pectoris due to coronary heart disease were included. The grouping method selected was the random number table method. They were divided into an observation group of 40 cases, treated with metoprolol, and a control group of 40 cases, treated with trimetazidine. Result: The cardiac function indicators, clinical efficacy and adverse reactions of the two groups were compared, and the results showed (P < 0.05). Conclusion: The efficacy and safety of metoprolol in the treatment of unstable angina pectoris in elderly patients with coronary heart disease are both relatively high. It is helpful to improve the cardiac function of patients and is worthy of research and promotion.
