Czy istnieje fonetyka stosowana?
If we assume that phonetics is one of the subsystems of the language structure, either alone or together with phonology, it seems reasonable to assume that there is also applied phonetics. Defining its possible scope of activity should, on the one hand, take into account its relationship with phonology, and on the other hand, be preceded by an explication of these scopes. In particular, these would be areas where phonetics would open additional perspectives of description: e.g. demonstrating structural mechanisms, explaining formal interdependencies, placing them in a broader framework. Examples of such areas include: sociophonetics, morphophonetics, areal phonetics, contact phonetics. The findings in these areas extend the description perspectives of traditional (theoretical) phonetics.
