THE ROLE OF DOGS IN DIROFILARIA REPENS DISTRIBUTION IN PERM CITY TERRITORY

Despite to rare finding of dirofilariasis among the Perm city population the monitoring of its distribution is necessary as a control of prevalence in dogs as an investigation of intermediates hosts – mosquitoes. At the period of 2023–2025 years according to V. D. Yastreb method the analysis of 3495 samples of domestic dog’s blood from several veterinary clinics as a 77 blood samples from service ones were carried out. From service dogs at the same period microfilaria were detected in 1 animal (1.30%). Majority of infected animals were dogs of giant breeds or mongrel and with aviary keeping. According to mapping data, animals from private orphanage play the main role in distribution of D. repens infection, then the influence of domestic and service dogs is insignificant.
