USING RADIOTHERAPY IN PATIENTS WITH HODGKIN’S LYMPHOMA
Objective: to study data on the effectiveness of radiotherapy in people with Hodgkin lymphoma after courses of chemotherapy. The Irkutsk Regional Oncology Center analyzed the results of radiation treatment in 14 patients with proven stage II-IV Hodgkin lymphoma. The patients were with stage II – 10 (72%) people, stage III – 1 (7%) and stage IV – 3 (21%) (men – 7, women – 7). Distribution of study participants by age: under 20 years old – 2 (14%) people, 21-30 years old – 6 (43%), 31-40 years old – 4 (29%), over 40 years old – 2 (14%) people. To determine the residual masses of tumor tissue and plan further radiotherapy, intermediate PET/CT with 18F-FDG was used in 14 people with Hodgkin lymphoma after 4 cycles of polychemotherapy and achieving partial remission. In all studied individuals, the presence of residual/residual lesions was revealed according to PET/CT data, which determined the indications for radiotherapy. All study participants tolerated the course of radiotherapy relatively satisfactorily. The results of radiotherapy were as follows: complete remission was verified in 12 (86%) patients, disease progression was observed in two (14%). The use of diagnostic studies of anatomical and metabolic imaging allows us to achieve an optimal assessment of the course of the disease and ensure rational planning of radiotherapy, monitoring and prognosis.
