Dermatoses during Pregnancy
Pregnancy induces a spectrum of skin changes driven by hormonal fluctuations, immune modulation, and mechanical factors. These range from benign physiological alterations to pregnancy-specific dermatoses, including atopic eruption of pregnancy (AEP), polymorphic eruption of pregnancy (PEP), pemphigoid gestationis (PG), intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP), and pustular psoriasis of pregnancy (PPP).While most conditions resolve postpartum and require symptomatic management, PG and ICP necessitate antepartum fetal monitoring due to potential risks. This review synthesizes the classification, clinical features, pathogenesis, and management of pregnancy-related dermatoses, emphasizing early diagnosis and tailored treatment to optimize maternal and fetal outcomes.
