Delays in large bridge construction projects remain a persistent challenge worldwide, often resulting in significant cost overruns, compromised quality, and strained stakeholder relationships. This study investigates the effectiveness of various delay mitigation strategies employed in large-scale bridge projects, with the aim of identifying best practices and critical success factors. Through a combination of literature review, case study analysis, and stakeholder interviews, the research evaluates strategies such as advanced planning and scheduling techniques, risk management frameworks, stakeholder engagement, contractual incentives, and the integration of technology like Building Information Modeling (BIM). The findings indicate that while no single strategy guarantees success, a proactive and adaptive combination of methods—tailored to the specific project environment—significantly enhances schedule performance. The study concludes with practical recommendations for project managers, policymakers, and contractors to improve delivery timelines and reduce the likelihood of delays in future bridge construction initiatives.
