ENHANCING CULINARY MSMES THROUGH COMMUNITY-BASED TRAINING: A STRATEGY FOR STRENGTHENING THE LOCAL CREATIVE ECONOMY IN BANDUNG

The growth of culinary Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) plays a pivotal role in advancing local creative economies, particularly in urban areas like Bandung. However, many culinary MSMEs face challenges related to limited skills, market access, and innovation capacity. Community-based training has emerged as a strategic intervention to address these constraints by fostering local knowledge, skills enhancement, and participatory empowerment. This study adopts a literature review approach to examine the impact of such training programs on the development and resilience of culinary MSMEs. By synthesizing findings from existing academic sources, this article identifies best practices and contextual factors influencing program effectiveness. The analysis reveals that localized training initiatives significantly contribute to business sustainability, social cohesion, and cultural identity preservation. Furthermore, these programs facilitate knowledge sharing and collaborative networks that strengthen entrepreneurial ecosystems. Despite their potential, implementation in Bandung still faces institutional, financial, and coordination barriers. This review highlights the need for integrative policy frameworks that support community-driven capacity-building for MSMEs. The findings offer theoretical and practical insights for stakeholders aiming to revitalize the creative economy through inclusive and sustainable entrepreneurship models.
