ANALYSIS OF PROTECTION INTERVAL FORMATION ALGORITHMS IN OFDM SYSTEMS TO COMBAT MULTIPATH DELAY PROPAGATION IN MEMORY CHANNELS

OFDM systems today are used rather widely, as they implement spectrally efficient broadband wireless communication methods at high data transfer rates over memory channels. The study considers approaches to the formation of security intervals in OFDM systems, which are inserted between blocks of transmitted characters in OFDM systems in order to prevent inter-character interference. The article consider two algorithms by which a guard interval in OFDM systems can be inserted at the end of a transmitted character. The first algorithm under consideration is zero padding, which fills the guard interval with zeros, and the other is the so–called cyclic prefix, which is a cyclic extension of the OFDM symbol, and subsequently the guard interval is removed on the receiving side in both cases. The article presents the results of computer simulation to make it possible to evaluate the pulse characteristics of multipath memory channels using various protection interval formation algorythms.
