Simultaneous Measurement of Light Emission and Pressure in a Scramjet Combustor
The intensity of light emission and pressure were simultaneously acquired inside the combustion chamber of a scramjet engine using photomultiplier tubes and pressure sensors, respectively. The correlation coefficient between the logarithmic values of optical radiation and pressure was 98.2% and the coefficient of determination of the linear fit was 0.995, indicating an exponential relationship between optical radiation and pressure. Both pressure and light emission indicated the oscillatory characteristics of the engine at a specific operating condition.
