The Financial Awareness of Hungarian Enterprises in Financial Decision-Making
The study examines the financial awareness of Hungarian enterprises in terms of the conditions of financial decision making. Financial literacy plays a key role in the life of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), influencing their operations and success in a number of areas. Enterprises with a higher level of financial literacy are more likely to avoid adverse financial decisions and improve the positive outcomes of the decisions they make, which contributes to their long-term competitiveness. Financially literate SMEs manage risks more effectively and are better prepared to face the challenges of growth. Financial awareness helps businesses to access finance more efficiently, maintain cash-flow balance and reduce indebtedness, which is key to survival and growth. It also helps to make informed financial decisions and develop a company-specific financial strategy, improving the efficiency of overall operations. At the macroeconomic level, improving the financial awareness of SMEs contributes to the stability, growth and competitiveness of the country's economy. The research presented in this study was based on a questionnaire survey of 655 enterprises, which sought to find out who and how financial decisions are made in the Hungarian business sector. The results show that the size and type of enterprises have a significant impact on decision-making processes, providing direction and examples for the future success of the actors in the entrepreneurial sector.
