Hidradenitis suppurativa and mortality in Ireland over a 10-year period: an assessment of statistics and review of the literature
Hidradenitis suppurativa has a significant impact on morbidity and mortality, with shortened life expectancy compared with healthy patients. This review of the literature and mortality statistics in Ireland highlights an important knowledge gap and supports the need for greater education on hidradenitis suppurativa and its comorbidities for dermatologists and nondermatology healthcare practitioners alike.
