PROJECT APPROACH IN WORKING WITH PEOPLE LIVING WITH HIV DURING THE WAR
The article is dedicated to the investigation of local community projects for people living with HIV during the war. There are a lot of programs and strategies that have been developed at the international, national, and regional levels to combat the spread of HIV/AIDS and promote the prevention of these diseases, but the most of work is providing on the level of the local community because they are the closest to the client. The article aims to analyze socio-oriented projects implemented to support people living with HIV in Ukraine. The research used a qualitative analysis of project applications developed by the social organization «100% Life. Kyiv region» to help target client groups. Modern research shows that the main task, in addition to providing medical care, is to provide social support to clients, as they are constantly under psychological pressure. Local community organizations are one of the agents that can quickly respond to changes in the social situation and develop projects that will meet the current needs of client groups. The results of the analysis of project applications show that stress reduction can be facilitated by meeting basic needs: providing discount certificates for purchasing products, providing necessary items for a comfortable stay in shelters during air raids, purchasing power banks and chargers during power outages, and conducting psychosocial support activities. Small and short-term social projects can also be used in addition to the main areas of work with people living with HIV since they are aimed at supporting a decent level of quality of life and contributing to social well-being. Providing basic needs contributes to forming a more favorable attitude towards public organizations, which in the future may lead to an increase in the level of trust and compliance in the treatment of the disease.
