MARK TSIPORIN: LIFE OF A CINEMATOGRAPHER IN THE ERA OF POST-REVOLUTIONARY SOVIET FILMIFICATION
The article characterizes cinematization in the early years of Soviet power on the example of the life and work of Mark Tsiporin, founder of the Kuibyshev Newsreel Studio and cinematographer. Mark Tsiporin is shown as both a concrete and a typical person. His individual and unique fate against the background of the process of creating Soviet cinema as a part of ideology is shown as two processes: cultural coercion by society and individual creative comprehension of this “cultural coercion”, which was perceived not as violence, but as a happy futurological project aimed at the future.
