Burnout syndrome and mental health factors in health workers
The purpose of the work is to study the features of professional burnout in physicians of GP and surgical profiles depending on specialization. The study included: group 1 – gastroenterologists (n=52); group 2 – cardiologists (n=58); group 3 – oncologists of the GP profile (n=48); group 4 – general surgeons (n=71); group 5 – cardiovascular surgeons (n=30); group 6 – surgical oncologists (n=65); group 7 – control: workers in engineering, technical, and economic fields, not related to medical organizations (healthy) (n=75). The assessment of the professional burnout was carried out using the Maslach Burnout Inventory developed by C. Maslach and S.E. Jackson and adapted by N.E. Vodopyanova. It has been established that the professional activity of physicians of GP and surgical profiles is associated with the impact of chronic occupational stress, leading to the development of professional burnout.
