Entero-scrotal faecal fistula as a complication of strangulated inguinal hernia
Entero-scrotal faecal fistula is a very rare presentation or complication of strangulated inguinal hernia. A systematic literature review was performed, according to the PRISMA statement from PubMed and Google Scholar with the identification of 20 cases reported in the period 1993-2023 and most of these cases published were from developing countries. Elective repair of inguinal hernias is the most efective way to prevent complications (morbidity and mortality).
