INCREASING THE TENSILE STRENGTH OF A HYDRAULIC SEAL OF A PACKER WITH A HYDRAULIC CYLINDER
The article discusses the operation of a dual-bore packer and presents the calculation of contact pressure on the packer's sealing elements. A packer (translated from English as “packer” — a sealing device, from the word to pack — to seal or to compress) is a downhole tool run into an oil, gas, or water well to provide zonal isolation and seal off specific sections of the wellbore. Packers come in various designs and operate on different principles. The packer is a key component of downhole oilfield equipment used in both flowing and artificial lift wells. During the operation or servicing of oil, gas, and injection wells, as well as in the course of well intervention and maintenance activities, the packer is used to isolate zones and seal off the production casing from the influence of other fluids. Keywords: dual-string packer, contact pressure, production casing, sealing isolation, zonal separation.
