Perception of Custard Apple growers towards climate variability

The present study was conducted in the Pune district of Maharashtra state. Purandhar tehsil was selected purposively as it has maximum area and production under custard apple. 12 villages were selected and from each village 10 custard apple growers were selected randomly, made 120 sample sizes. The Most of i.e. 57.50 percent of custard apple growers middle aged; Majority of i.e. 41.67 percent had educates up to secondary level, more half of the i.e. 50.84 percent custard apple growers had medium size of family, about 37.50 percent had low level of annual income, majority i.e. 40.00 percent had small size of land holding, Majority i.e. 93.33 percent had well as the source of irrigation, About 88.33 percent custard apple growers had low area under custard apple cultivation, About 43.33 percent custard apple had medium years’ experience in custard apple cultivation, More than half i.e. 60.84 percent had medium innovativeness, More than half i.e. 52.50 percent had medium level of risk orientation and about 34.17 percent had fair extension contact. More than half i.e. 59.17 percent custard apple growers had medium perception towards climate variability. Education, innovativeness, risk orientation and extension contact had positive and highly significant relationship with the perception of custard apple growers towards climate variability.
